This article was published before we became the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade on 10 July 2024, and this is reflected in references to our old brand and name. For more information about us becoming Chartered, visit our dedicated webpage on the change here.

The Institute of Export and International Trade is pleased to announce that Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) members who have passed the Diploma in Accounting and Business or Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business ACCA qualifications can be fast-tracked into an International Trade qualification from the IOE.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the global body for professional accountants supporting 162,000 ACCA members and 428,000 students throughout their careers. Their professional qualifications are internationally recognised ensuring their members offer world-class accountancy expertise to the public.

A fast-track is available onto the Advanced Certificate in International Trade after completion of the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business qualification without any other prior learning or experience.

For those who have completed the ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business, an exemption is available on the Diploma in International Trade – requiring study of only three out of four named modules from the Diploma course.  The modules include vital information on the efficient application of finance in International Trade, and optimising payment security and business cash flow.

To be eligible for the IOE fast-track, students will need to provide proof of their ACCA qualifications.

Our director general, Lesley Batchelor, commented “The Institute of Export continues to enjoy a longstanding, powerful partnership and collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, including round-table events and PIT STOP debates. We are delighted to offer these exemptions to ACCA members to enable them to embed professionalism in International Trade.”
