horus music queens award

As part of our build up to the Queen's Award Gala Dinner this September, we're talking to some of this year's international trade winners.

In this interview, we talk to Leicester-based online music distributors Horus Music.

What does your business do and where are you at the moment in terms of your exports?

Horus Music is a music distribution and label services company, meaning that we work with independent artists and labels to place their music across hundreds of download, streaming and interactive platforms. We provide music directly to hundreds of different music stores, in over 180 countries. We work with artists from around the world and have representatives in the UK, India, Korea, Malaysia and New Zealand.

Congratulations on winning a Queen’s Award! How did it feel to win one and how has winning one impacted your business?

It is a real honour to have won the Queens Award for International Trade as it recognises our commitment to offering a global service.  As a company we have always strived to ensure that every artist from every country can have their music on the local platforms in their territory; not just the traditional Western ones we’re familiar with. As the only music company this year to have won the Queens Award for International Trade it’s proven that we’re a truly global company that can compete with any of the other providers out there.  Horus Music - Global in Spirit, Local at Heart.

What’s the next big thing for your business?

Since winning the Queens Award for International Trade we plan to continue to capitalise on our international dominance by opening offices across China, Latin America and Africa.

You can sign up to the Queen's Award dinner for a fabulous celebration of the Queen's Award winners' achievements at the Royal Horseguards Hotel here

You can also apply for an award yourself in this year's International Trade Category - more info.
