IOE&IT is a recognised awarding organisation, with the Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications regulated by Ofqual, and all IOE&IT qualifications recognised nationally and globally.

Exemption(s) may apply. Previous qualifications must cover the same learning outcomes as the syllabus of our subject and be of an equivalent level. Exemptions are decided by the Academic Board. An exemption application, with all relevant information such as previous certificates, course credits, transcripts, breakdowns and course content, may be included with the student registration form.

Student membership is the minimum required to study. Existing members of the Institute are not required to pay separately for a student registration. An existing individual membership (higher membership types recognise international trade experience) makes student level membership unnecessary.
Existing IOE&IT members must still have their qualifications and experience checked to confirm that they meet the entry requirements of the qualification.

Yes, international students are welcome.

Qualifications have a maximum study period within which it must be completed. These are typically 2 or 4 years and are specified for each course.

Advanced Learner Loans may be available for our regulated qualifications the Level 3 Certificate in International Trade and Level 4 Diploma in International Trade. The Education & Skills funding agency can provide support for students aged 16 -19 years.

IOE&IT distance learning is flexible, and is not set to run with enrolment groups achieving the qualification in the same set turnaround. Schedules are individual and students (in agreement with sponsoring employers) decide when to enter as an assessment candidate. Homework assignments help students evaluate when to enter each subject of their qualification.

IOE&IT’s distance learning course includes tuition and comprehension notes. Distance Learning reading material is designed to cover the syllabus of the Institute’s qualifications. Distance tutoring allows queries to aid understanding the syllabus, phone calls with tutors may be pre-arranged; special enquiries and homework may be submitted electronically.

Additional revision material is given in the form of interim assignments. These are not compulsory, but they give students the opportunity to interact with their tutors so they can develop answer techniques and demonstrate their knowledge.

Studying one of the IOE&IT’s qualifications through Distance Learning is flexible not tied to a bulk enrolment group that would prepare individuals to achieve the qualification in the same set turnaround; it is individual to the student.

Mature students are encouraged to set targets for when to enter Assessments for each module. Students (in agreement with sponsoring employers) decide when to enter as an assessment candidate because there is not a set study term.
