The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, offered in collaboration with the University of Plymouth, provides employees with the skills and knowledge to operate successfully in international trade without taking time out to study.
Do you aspire to be a successful leader in international trade? Are you looking to progress your management career without the time and expense of studying?
Our Chartered Manager Trade Degree Apprenticeship has been specifically designed to do just that. This fully-funded, work-based degree is a bespoke programme for you and your employer, tailored to meet the crucial knowledge and skills you require to succeed in international trade management.
The apprenticeship is a flexible alternative to traditional study, enabling employees to earn a full honours degree whilst earning a salary and applying learned theory directly to the workplace.
The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship is a four-year programme of learning, consisting of a two year Foundation Degree in International Trade plus two year full honours degree in Professional Management Practice with the University of Plymouth.
As a Chartered Manager Degree Apprentice with the University of Plymouth your learning journey will be integrated and tailored around your workplace setting. You will study 240 credits of the FdSc International Trade Foundation Degree, which make up the first 2 years of the programme. The final two years incorporate 120 credits from the BSc (Hons) Professional Management Practice degree. You will undertake modules in management which are contextualised within your workplace setting and includes a workplace project module and an International Trade elective option.
Suitable for new employees entering into their first management position, as well as aspiring or existing managers already in employment.
There are three enrolments each year - January, May and September.
All applicants must have GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above, or the new GCSE (2017) Grade 4.
In addition, entry will be considered based on either a minimum of 2 A Levels in a relevant subject area; BTEC National Diploma or QCF Qualification at Pass level (acceptable subjects: business, logistics, supply chain, international trade, economics); Passed a named Access to HE Level 3, including GCSE English and Maths at Level 3 or above; or if candidates have more than three years work experience in international trade. Candidates are interviewed before an offer is made.
Applicants who do not fit the above criteria will be treated sympathetically and dealt with on a case by case approach in which the main criterion will be the student’s potential to benefit from and ability to complete the course.
Based on work experience and/or prior educational qualifications, exemptions for years 1 and 2 of the Degree apprenticeship will be considered. If approved this would require the learner to complete years 3 and 4 only at a cost of £12,000.
