IOE&IT director general Marco Forgione is to speak on a panel of experts on Wednesday next week (20 January) about how firms can mitigate risks in international trade following the end of the transition period.

The discussion – to be broadcast on Facebook Live by Barclays with free-of-charge attendance – will tackle the impacts of the UK ‘s departure from the EU on customs, VAT, data and GDPR among other issues.

Forgione has spoken on similar events run by Barclays, warning in March 2020 that the Covid-19 pandemic would “fundamentally change” supply chains.

He is joined on the panel by:

  • Russell Antram, head of EU negotiations at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI)
  • Claire Bennison, head of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK (ACCA)
  • Asli Yildiz, head of legal at the Data and Marketing Association Group (DMA)
  • Ian Workman, managing director of SME business banking at Barclays

To listen to the discussion, go to the Barclays Business UK Facebook page at 10am on Wednesday 20 January.

The IOE&IT Daily Update will be reporting on the event.
