There is now less than one week to move all your export declarations to the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) from the previous Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system.

Traders are advised to act now to make sure they can still export goods after Tuesday 4 June. From this date, apart from limited exceptions where HMRC permission is granted, traders will be legally required to use CDS.

To explain what all this means for exports and the movement of goods, the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) is hosting a special Lunchtime Learning session once the deadline closes, featuring two of our topic experts, Matt Vick and Anna Doherty, and a HMRC speaker to answer members' questions on CDS.

In this member-exclusive session you will learn:

  • The importance of the 4 June deadline
  • What happens if you haven't been able get ready in time
  • How to keep exporting goods through the final stages of the transition
  • What this all means for your business
