Global Trade Live – Export Controls

Free to attend

Duration:

45 Mins

Location:

Online Only

Start Date:

8 Sept 2026 2:00 pm

End Date:

Following Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and because of increasing technological competition with China, western governments have increasingly used export controls to curb the trade of military and dual use goods.

Governments have also tightened the enforcement of control regulations to ensure sensitive goods aren’t invertedly sent to controlled destinations by third parties. This has resulted in the imposition of fines and penalties for companies found to have breached controls and licensing requirements.

This free Global Trade Live webinar from the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade will give an overview of the increasing use of controls by governments including the UK, US and EU, while giving some practical tips on how businesses can ensure compliance.

Agenda

  • Panel Discussion: The increasing use of export controls and sanctions by the UK, US and EU

  • Fireside Chat: How to ensure compliance with export controls and sanctions

  • Questions from the Helpline: Answers to FAQs on export controls and sanctions
