Free trade agreements – such as those the UK has secured with the EU, Australia and Japan – offer several opportunities for traders, including preferential tariffs.

To qualify for reduced or removed duties, importers need to comply with the rules of origin in the agreements you are trading under. This means you need to be able to prove the economic nationality – or ‘origin’ – in a way that satisfies the criteria set out.

This course helps you to understand what you need to do to qualify for preferential tariffs and the proofs of origin you need to provide to do so, enabling your business to reduce duty costs when importing goods from overseas.
