The IOE&IT is delivering a half-hour webinar on Thursday 18 June at 11am to help businesses understand the implications of the government’s three phase plan for import controls after the Brexit transition period finishes on 31 December 2020.

The government last week announced that customs controls on goods entering Great Britain from the EU will be introduced in three stages, with traders of all goods being required to complete customs declarations from July 2021.

The half-hour webinar on Thursday morning will cover:

• Detailed information about the plans to phase in border controls for imports from the EU
• What each phase of the plan entails and when each one is being introduced
• How the plan will impact different vertical sectors, using case study examples
• The need for businesses to prepare for changes through training

The webinar will largely take a Q&A format, with delegates invited to ask questions either in advance when registering or during the webinar.

It will be delivered by Kevin Shakespeare, director of stakeholder engagement at the IOE&IT.
