One of the UK’s set-piece events for international trade is returning this autumn, with the date for this year’s Import Export Show confirmed as 19 November 2025.
The conference is hosted by the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade and is back for its third year with the strapline ‘Securing international trade: Strategy. Advice. Connections.’
The conference offers business leaders and their teams strategic insight and practical know-how on all things trade – from strategy and policy to day-to-day customs processes.
It is being held in central London at Leonardo Royal Hotel, St Paul’s.
Volatile times
Charlie Laycock, head of events at the Chartered Institute, said that this year’s agenda has been specifically designed to give firms the insights and guidance needed to navigate increased volatility in global trade.
“It’s been another year of rising geopolitical tensions and trade protectionism, particularly with Donald Trump’s tariffs,” she said.
“This year’s conference will include a variety of formats, from keynote panels to interactive policy roundtables to practical workshops.
“The agenda covers the issues that are causing most uncertainty, which businesses need strategic foresight and practical guidance on."
Sessions on broader geopolitical trends and the future of the EU-UK trade relationship, as well as workshops on sanctions and free trade agreements, have already been announced as part of today’s launch.
Sources of inspiration
Laycock also confirmed that winners of this year’s International Trade Awards – a scheme also run by the Chartered Institute – will be announced at the conference.
“The awards celebrate those already leading the way in global trade,” she said.
There will be six award categories this year, including for both businesses and individuals. Both can now apply for this year’s awards, with submissions opening today.
Knowledge sharing
Apart from the agenda and award announcements, Laycock was keen to point out that there will be a lot of time for networking and knowledge sharing throughout the day.
“The opportunity to network with peers – whether that’s C-suite decision makers or on-the-ground customs staff – is a vital part of the Import Export Show offer.
“We’ve made sure that there will be ample opportunity for delegates to get to know each other, share ideas and insights, and make lasting connections.”
She also said that there will be an opportunity for delegates to network with a wide array of industry-leading service providers on the exhibitors’ stands.
She advised companies interested in sponsoring or exhibiting at the conference to contact the Chartered Institute’s head of sales, Sally Davidson-Jones.
