ioe graduation

Every year the Institute of Export & International Trade celebrates the achievements of students who undertake its qualifications at a glittering graduation ceremony in London.

Last year, the event was postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This year, as lockdown restrictions on live events have eased and physical events have resumed, the IOE&IT is delighted to announce that its 2021 event will be in-person.

Where and when

The graduation ceremony for the classes of 2020 and 2021 will be held at one of London’s most prestigious addresses: the Mansion House, residence of the Lord Mayor of London.

The event will take place in the magnificent Egyptian Hall at the Mansion House.

Held on Monday 4 October, the ceremony starts at 4pm, followed by a celebratory drinks reception. The evening will draw to a close by 9pm.

‘Particularly special’

Marco Forgione, the IOE&IT’s director general, said this year’s event is “particularly special, having twice as many graduates as usual and being a celebration of international trade’s resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Our graduation ceremony is a unique occasion, not just because it celebrates the achievements of an international community of graduates, but because recipients are drawn from organisations of all sizes.”

Covid-safe

The IOE&IT is heeding government advice on hosting live events to ensure a Covid-safe ceremony.

To this end, the venue will undergo a full Covid risk assessment, with expanded space for attendees, the provision of hand sanitiser and masks (should attendees wish to wear one) together with health and safety officers on site.

With Covid-safe measures in place, the ceremony allows students to celebrate their academic achievements with family and friends, and to mingle with fellow students, employers and dignitaries involved in international trade.

Invitations and tickets

IOE&IT students graduating in 2020/21 and those already graduated 2019/20 will next week receive a personal invitation from the IOE&IT’s director general.

Additional guest tickets can be purchased for £35+VAT, with no restriction on the number you purchase as long as there is availability.
