The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) and KGH, providing Maersk Customs Service in Europe, are proud to present the launch of Customs Academy – a new global e-learning platform for customs, logistics and international trade compliance.
The new e-learning platform is built on a long-term partnership between KGH and the IOE&IT. Through the UK Customs Academy, digital customs training has already been delivered successfully to the UK trading community.
Customs Academy will offer a wide range of digital training on core customs, logistics topics and industry best practice, delivered in various languages.
Marco Forgione, director general the Institute of Export & International Trade, said: “We are proud to announce the launch of a truly global e-learning platform as a resource for customs professionals.
“Together with Maersk and KGH we are the expert support to help trading successfully and compliantly. The Customs Academy also will enable companies to access the highest quality training for their new entrants.”
Lars Karlsson, global head of trade and customs consulting at Maersk said: “This is a timely landmark step for customs knowledge, competence and capacity building in a moment when international trade experiences increased complications, complexity and disturbance.
“The first digital Customs Academy will be offered as a global Maersk Trade and Customs Consulting Product to our customers in all regions and it will also be used by our own professionals to further enhance the high standard of the Maersk Customs Services.”
Patrik Heinesson, managing director at KGH Customs Services added: “This is indeed a major step forward in facilitating international trade, ensuring improved compliance and optimising the opportunities following on increased knowledge and understanding.
“We have seen the need for training within this area and are happy to provide over 50 years’ competence.”
The Customs Academy represents a learning ecosystem for the customs profession that is capable of supporting individual and corporate members across different organisations with a lifelong learning journey.
It is based on a modular structure which allows the learner to access those modules that are of relevance to their professional area of interest and level of development, without the need to undertake a formal qualification.
