Lesley on panel at World Trade Symposium

IOE&IT Director General Lesley Batchelor OBE featured on a panel of experts speaking at the World Trade Symposium earlier this week.

Co-organised by Financial Times and MISYS Financial Sofware, the event centred on 'Transforming trade: Driving financial inclusion through globalisation and digitisation.'

With trade blocks under pressure and growth lagging, the fundamentals of global trade are being challenged as never before. Consumers an producers in every continent are wondering if globalisation is really garnering prosperity and financial inclusion. The World Trade Symposium sought to investigate the issues and opportunities for global trade and explore the potential to transform trade with digital at its core.

Lesley spoke as part of 'Transforming UK Trade - The big debate', alongside Douglas Carswell; Stephen Adams and Ambassador Jonathan T.Fried.
