Long-standing IOE&IT members, David and Wendy Maisey, received their OBEs from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace last week, after being recognised in the New Year’s Honours List.

The husband and wife were rewarded their OBEs for their contribution to international trade and the UK economy.

They have been exporting for 20 years with their company, ICC Solutions Ltd, and have won multiple Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the international trade and innovation categories.

David, a former Trustee Director of the IOE&IT, told Warrington Worldwide:

“It was a surreal day. We’ve been to the Palace before as ICC Solutions has been granted four Queens Awards for Enterprise previously for international trade and innovation, but this was very personal and special.

“To also have our longest serving member of staff with us Paula Turner, who has been with ICC Solutions for over 23 years, was the icing on the cake. We feel it’s very much a team effort.”

David continues to support international trade through his support of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with whom he developed an exporting skill, which helps young people achieve their DofE Award through education in the processes of global trade.

David was not the only IOE&IT member to be recognised this year, with Sean Ramsden, a current Trustee Director, also awarded an MBE for services to international trade.
