The IOE&IT in-person events calendar for 2022 got into full swing at the Westminster, London launch of the Institute’s latest report, entitled Trade Data and Digitalisation, on 15 March.
An exclusive event for members, the unveiling of the report was a blend of enthusiastic networking, wine and capapes with great conversation and the (virtual) presence of Minister for Exports, Mike Freer MP.
Using authoritative sources of data and expert analysis, the new report – available to download here – sets out the opportunities and challenges of digitalising trade.
Ministerial endorsement
The report's contents had clearly won over Minister Freer, who told guests that the “future of trade will be paperless” and “faster…and cheaper” if digitalisation is fully embraced.
The occasion also doubled as the launch for the IOE&IT’s highly successful International Trade Accelerator Voucher scheme*, a £1.1m fund to help businesses large and small through access to world class IOE&IT training, consultancy, and
educational services.
Off screen, in person
IOE&IT chairman Terry Scuoler CBE and director general Marco Forgione energetically circled the Church House room to meet as many members as possible – all looking delighted to be off screens and meeting in person once again.
“Can’t wait for the next live Institute event!” one exporter member exclaimed as he was one of the last to leave.
*The International Trade Accelerator voucher scheme is currently closed to new applications. This follows a successful launch and rapid take up of the £1.1million fund through the limited first issue of 1000 vouchers.
We are currently reviewing the possibility of releasing further tranches of vouchers along with additional schemes to support UK businesses in accessing our market-leading training, consultancy and education services. Please submit the form here to add your details to our waiting list for these releases.
