The Middle East is a complex region but one with significant opportunities for the UK’s exporters. Within the region there is the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) – a bloc of six nations with which the UK is currently negotiating a free trade agreement. UK-GCC trade is already valued at around £57bn a year, and a new deal between the two could boost the UK economy by £1.6bn.
However, with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, and a raft of sanctions currently being imposed on Iran, the area is not without its challenges for UK trade and for international supply chains.
On 23 April 2025, the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade will host a free webinar, in partnership with Aramex, discussing the emerging sectors and untapped potential in the Middle East.
The session will focus on the types of products and services in demand in the region – such as fashion, tech and green solutions – alongside strategies for navigating regulatory and logistical requirements.
