Lunchtime Learnings UK CBAM

Member exclusive event

Duration:

1 Hour

Location:

Online Only

Start Date:

24 Jul 2025 12:00 pm

End Date:

24 Jul 2025 1:00 pm

The UK is currently developing its own Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which will introduce levies for certain goods entering the UK that are produced by processes with higher emissions than those used for domestic equivalents.

A technical consultation on the draft primary legislation for the UK’s CBAM is set to close on 3 July 2025. The government is planning to implement the new rules from the start of 2027.

On 24 July, the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade will host an exclusive webinar for members to update them on the progress of the technical consultation and the expected next steps.

The Chartered Institute’s customs practice director, Anna Doherty, will lead the presentation.

The event follows a free session on 15 July the Chartered Institute is running to introduce CBAMs and the implementation so far of the EU’s version.

Both the free webinar on the 15th and this update on the 24th will be giving an overview of CBAM as a policy issue.

To learn how to comply with EU CBAM regulations and to understand how to prepare your business for the UK’s, you are advised to book a place on the Chartered Institute’s CBAM training course.
