Lunchtime Learning: The India FTA in focus

Member exclusive event

Duration:

1 Hour

Location:

Online Only

Start Date:

23 Apr 2026 12:00 pm

End Date:

23 Apr 2026 1:00 pm

The UK’s recent trade deal with India is one of the most important of the post-Brexit agreements. Signed in 2025 after years of negotiations, the treaty includes cuts to tariffs across a wide range of products, including food and drink, automotive, and clothing.

The trade deal makes it easier for British exporters to sell to a market of almost 1.5bn consumers, amounting to slightly less than 20% of the total global population.

The Chartered Institute’s Lunchtime Learning programme will look at how to take advantage of this new market opportunity, including how to reduce the tariffs on goods, where to go for advice on selling into India and how to use customs procedures to your advantage.

Speakers:

Host: Phil Adnett, senior content editor at the Chartered Institute

When: 12:00 – 13:00 GMT, Thursday 21 April 2026

Where: Microsoft Teams

Delegates are invited to send questions in advance to editor@export.org.uk.
