Global Trade Live: The UK-EU reset one year in – what we know so far

Free to attend

Duration:

1 Hour

Location:

Online Only

Start Date:

12 May 2026 2:00 pm

End Date:

12 May 2026 3:00 pm

In May 2025, a UK-EU Leaders’ Summit was hosted in London to mark the ‘resetting’ of post-Brexit trade ties between the UK and Europe. With the five-year review of the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) due this year, what progress has been made since last summer in revitalising this key relationship?

At a free Global Trade Live webinar hosted by the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade, trade policy experts from the UK and Europe will assess progress on the series of commitments made at last year’s summit and discuss other areas where London and Brussels could more closely cooperate.

This will include a discussion of the proposed Common Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Area, ongoing work to link UK and EU Emissions Trading Systems (ETS), and other areas of cooperation including youth mobility and regulatory alignment.

Agenda

  • Fireside Chat: UK-EU commitments so far on resetting trade ties

  • Panel Discussion: How the UK and EU can strengthen ties in an increasingly volatile world

  • Rebooting your EU Trade: Practical tips on how you can reboot your businesses’ EU trade

  • Questions from the Helpline: Answers to FAQs on the UK-EU relationship

Need more help?

  • Read our 2025 report on ‘Reimagining UK-EU Trade and Cooperation’
