Customs processes in the UK, EU and globally are undergoing an ongoing period of transformation and modernisation, as governments look to better facilitate and streamline cross-border trade processes and regulation.

This new series of webinars with Anna Doherty, the lead of the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade’s Customs Practice, will give traders the opportunity to ask one of the industry’s leading experts questions about upcoming new customs rules and processes.

The first of these quarterly sessions will be free, with future editions then free for members of the Chartered Institute as part of its exclusive Lunchtime Learning programme.

This free webinar will give an overview of key changes taking place over the coming months, including:

  • Recent changes around safety and security declarations in the UK
  • Upcoming changes for GB to NI movements under Windsor Framework
  • The implementation of the EU’s Import Control System (ICS) 2 – launching for road and rail freight on 1 April
  • Recap on Final State Rules for NCTS5 and the introduction of NCTS 6 (the New Computerised Transit System) – due 1 July

Host: William Barns-Graham, executive editor at the Chartered Institute
Speakers: Anna Doherty, customs practice lead at the Chartered Institute and a HMRC representative

Delegates are invited to send questions in advance to editor@export.org.uk.

There will also be two deep-dive ‘Lunchtime Learning’ webinars in March and April for Chartered Institute members going into further detail on ICS 2 and NCTS 6.

  • 4 March: Upcoming Windsor Framework changes for GB-NI trade
  • 27 March: ICS 2: What the new EU’s updated Import Control System means for UK traders
