World Trade Summit 2018

Thursday 1st November, 1.30pm - 6.40pm

Followed by drinks reception & networking

In an ever changing business environment the Institute is endeavouring to bring the skills agenda to the fore by engaging with business and government in shaping the future of international trade. By providing informed debate and ensuring that exporters’ voices are heard, large or small, our annual World Trade Summit focuses on where next and the great things that are already happening.

The summit brings together some of the most knowledgeable and influential speakers on the key issues that impact on international trade.

Removing barriers to export growth: Regional and sectoral perspectives

This year we are proud to be working with Barclays and the Policy Institute at King's College London, on a research project looking at how the UK can improve its export performance. We will be launching the results of this research report at the summit. The partnership has focused on practical advice for exporters alongside expert commentary from key sector leaders, policy makers and influencers who understand that deeper reform is only possible through effective partnership between finance, business, Government and trade associations. This latest research report takes an in-depth look at how exporting firms across the UK perceive barriers to export growth, how current exporters make use of government and other export support, and how policy can help these firms to improve their export performance.

Plus, join us for the drinks reception after the event where IOE&IT member and Queen's Awards winner Atom Brands will be mixing up some cocktails for guests to try.
