Sharon Loane, PhD, PGChep is a Senior Lecturer in International Business at Ulster University’s Business School, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

With deep links across Europe, Sharon is a visiting Professor at the University of Bergamo, Italy, and a visiting scholar at Hochschule Kempten, Germany.

The director of the IOE&IT Academy and an approved UN international trade trainer, Kevin has developed several of the IOE&IT’s educational and training programmes including the Diploma in World Customs Compliance and Regulation.

He has worked on trade initiatives with Invest NI, Scottish Enterprise, UK Export Finance, Saudi Export Development Authority, among others, and is also the dean of the UK Customs Academy and NI Customs and Trade Academy.

A trade and customs specialist at the IOE&IT Academy, Vicky over 20 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain and customs compliance environments, previously working for businesses such as Caterpillar Logistics, Neovia Logistics and Jaguar Land Rover Limited.

She has developed educational and training programmes for UK Customs Academy and IOE&IT qualifications.

A trade and customs specialist at the IOE&IT Academy, Hamish has over twenty years’ experience within international trade compliance across blue-chip organisations in the aerospace and defence sectors.

He has extensive knowledge of export control regulations in the EU and US having designed and implemented internal compliance programmes for multiple business segments.

A customs consultant at the IOE&IT Academy, Nicholas has over 30 years’ experience working for SMEs in supply chain and procurement dealing with multinational companies for the import and export of their products worldwide.

He is currently involved in the government’s Trader Support Service for moving goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

A consultant and tutor for the IOE&IT Academy, Dadria has over 18 years’ experience in customs and trade, specialising in tariff classification and free trade agreements.

She is a former adjunct lecturer at Charles Sturt University in Australia and has masters degrees in customs law and international revenue administration from the University of Canberra and the Center for Customs and Excise Studies.

Jon Walden is Principal Consultant in Customs and Trade Facilitation at Crown Agents, with over 30 years’ experience in international trade including sales, freight forwarding, marketing, finance and compliance roles.

Jon provides technical consultancy, training inputs and advisory services in international contracting, international supply chain, WTO/WCO systems and requirements.

A Lead Tutor and Academy Trade and Customs Specialist at the IOE&IT. Pat has over 30 years’ experience in Warehouse, Logistics, Supply Chain and Customs procedures and processes, previously working for manufacturing companies in the UK and USA.

Pat’s career started in Stock Control and Stores Administration, and this led to roles in Warehouse Management and Logistics Management. The next step was to progress into Customs compliance and procedures, specifically AEO Accreditation and Customs Declarations.

He has obtained qualifications with the Chartered Management Institute and is also an award-winning student in the DWCCR course with the IOE&IT. He was a member of the Brexit preparation team at a multi-national company and has supported the UK Customs Academy with content updates, and tutoring support.

Recently, Pat has supported the Trader Support Service and the UK Customs Academy with Brexit content updates, providing students with course updates, and tutoring support.

More recently, Patrick has completed the “TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF)” and has also started an apprenticeship: “Learning & Skills Teacher (Level 5)”.
