Hot off the press following last week’s Nigeria guide launch, we are delighted to announce that we have today released yet another new Doing Business Guide - this time for India.

The fastest growing economy in the world, one of the largest youth populations, a new emerging middle-class, and a rapidly increasing urban population are all key factors in making India an incredible attractive market for exporters. Given the shared heritage with the UK, and the fact that English is spoken widely in the country, it’s no wonder that the UK government is so keen to drum up trade ties with India.

As ever with the Doing Business Guides, this publication provides a wealth of information, market stats, sector overviews and tips and advice for exporters considering entering the Indian market. The team have worked alongside the UK India Business Council and the Department for International Trade, among many others, to draw upon vast amounts of expertise and experience of selling into India.

In her introduction to the guide, IOE&IT Director General Lesley Batchelor said:

“The world's second largest country by population, India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. With rising personal incomes and a growing middle class consumer base, India can be a lucrative market for British exporters with the right products, services, and commitment. This Doing Business in India guide will help prepare UK businesses who are looking to trade with this dynamic market.”

Though no single guide could ever give you all the answers when it comes to a country as vast and diverse as India, the Doing Business guide is a great start for any business looking into selling there for the first time. And as ever, the Institute is always available to support your should you have any difficulties in entering the market.
