We are delighted to announce that the Lord Mayor of London will be attending our Graduation Prizegiving ceremony this summer. The event is indeed being held at the Lord Mayor's Mansion House residence in London.

Elected in November 2016, Lord Mayor Andrew Parmley has had a long and successful career in the creative industries, education, and music.

The Lord Mayor of London is far more than a ceremonial role, with the incumbent travelling around the world promoting British trade and the role that the City of London has to play in it. He works extensively with the Foreign Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Trade in doing so and also leads many delegations of business representatives on international visits to meet key government and industry figures in overseas markets.

Lord Mayor Parmley has already been quite vocal in putting forward the importance of the City in the UK’s negotiations to leave the EU.

He is quoted by City Matters as saying:

During my year in office I will strive to champion and speak up for this industry both domestically and internationally, particularly as the City faces up to the challenges and opportunities that Brexit will pose.

With a strong background in education and as a key figure in the British business world, he is an ideal guest for our graduation ceremony and a great voice for our recent students to hear from. He will be meeting the next generation of British international traders as well as industry giants who will be speaking at the event and sharing their knowledge and thoughts about the state of British trade going into the future.

The graduation is always a great opportunity to show appreciation of the dedication and commitment of our students. We are indeed delighted that our new president, Lord Green of Hustpierpoint, will also be attending. Lord Green has also been a key representative of British trade in recent years, serving as trade minister between 2011 and 2013.

You can still register to attend the graduation yourself for the chance to meet the future of trade and network with key figures including Lord Green, the Lord Mayor and many more.

You are invited to join us for the ceremony, which will begin at 5pm, followed by a full reception from around 6.30pm. It will draw to a close by 9pm. Tickets for the event are priced at just £30 + VAT. Tickets can be booked online here.
