Following on from our vibrant awards ceremony for our Diploma in International Trade graduates, we also want to congratulate our 79 students (some of whom are pictured above) who achieved our Certificate in International Trade and Advanced Certificate in International Trade qualifications.

A question we are frequently asked is; “Exactly what are the benefits of studying these qualifications?” Below is a snapshot of responses from some of our Diploma in International Trade graduates.

“It has enabled our international sales to flourish, whilst many around us have suffered.

The diploma has given John Eustace, regional business area manager with Dormer Tools an enormous confidence boost.

Says John: “The learning is applied to real life scenarios which makes the process far more rewarding and tangible. It covers every angle of International Trade from indirect exporting to wholly-owned subsidiaries and what makes it so valuable to me is that almost everything in the syllabus has been relevant to our day to day operations.

“I have no doubt that this course – and the Advanced Certificate in International Trade course previously – has enabled our international sales to flourish, whilst many around us have suffered.”

“It will help to advance my career opportunities”

Kate Willars, product and export control officer for Nuneaton-based MIRA who received the highest overall mark in her class says: “The qualification has given me a good grounding in international trade and the case studies provided a valuable means of applying best practice. I’m confident that achieving the Diploma will help to advance my career opportunities.”

“I now run my own business working with companies who require support in international trade.”

Anne Murphy, a director at Innovi Business Growth Ltd, had gained wide-ranging experience and skills in international trade and embarked on the Diploma to fill knowledge gaps. Ann describes the course as: “Very thorough, covering all aspects of international trade and I would recommend it to others working in this sector. During the course of my studies, I realised just how passionate I am about exporting and now run my own business working with companies who require support in international trade.”

“Helped my company to develop sales in overseas markets”

Gareth Meese, the product manager at Bunting Magnetics Co. (Europe) says the qualification has boosted his company’s understanding of exporting and helped it to develop sales in overseas markets. He comments: “We would recommend the Diploma in International Trade to anyone looking to increase their export knowledge and increase sales in overseas markets.”

The qualification will help to broaden my horizons.”

Olivia Rothwell, a paralegal at Squire Sanders Law, describes how working for an international law firm with offices across the Americas, Asia and Europe: “Makes this Diploma valuable and relevant and achieving the qualification will help to broaden my horizons.”

“Very worthwhile and enlightening experience”

Gavin Makowski, head of logistics and compliance at Dishman Group says that the qualifications offered by the IOE are the only ones available in the logistics and supply chain. He comments: “It was a very worthwhile and enlightening experience and the diploma will be a valuable complement to my other business qualifications.”
