We’re counting down to the 2016 Institute of Export Graduation and Prize Giving Ceremony – where successful students will celebrate their achievements in the presence of many of the UK’s leading lights in international trade.

To be held in the spectacular settings of the Lord Mayor of London’s residence from 5pm on Wednesday 25th May, our ceremony enables us to demonstrate our appreciation of our student’s dedication and commitment to their studies and careers in international trade.

It is all the more impressive that so many students work while undertaking our qualifications – and this is why we ensure that our qualifications can fit around a full-time career.

This year’s event will honour 203 students who have achieved qualifications. They include 59 students who have completed their Certificate for International Trade Advisors, 44 who have graduated from their Advanced Certificate in International Trade, and 10 who have achieved their FdA Professional Practice in International Trade.

Our students hail from large and small organisations spanning the public and private sector, including Aberdeen City Council, Vauxhall Motors, Mothercare UK,  Grant Thornton UK LLP, Farthingstone Golf Club  and HSBC Bank Plc.

Our fantastic line up of speakers will inspire attendees with their insights into exporting and conducting business abroad, as well as reinforce the value of our internationally recognised courses and qualifications. They comprise Lesley Batchelor, OBE, FIEx (Grad), IOE Director General; Louis Taylor, Chief Executive of UK Export Finance; Ian Taylor, FIEx, IOE Chairman; Alderman, Sherriff Charles Bowman – and Lord Empey, OBE, IOE Vice President.

Kevin Shakespeare, our Director of Education, said: “This has been another year of high achievements for IOE students. Over 200 students have successfully completed their qualifications across 2015-2016 – representing 40% of our 508 graduates completing qualifications in the last three years”.

Anand Harrilall, a student from the High Commission of Canada who passed his Diploma in International Trade with flying colours, commented on the support the IOE provided him during the course, lauding our education team as: “Very patient, insightful and extremely responsive” and thanking us for our “Timely feedback and guidance”

We would also like to thank our sponsors for all their support in hosting the 2016 graduation – Bibby Financial Services, Norsk Global, CITAworld, Strong & Herd, Kuehne + Nagel Ltd, The Worshipful Company of World Traders, Felixstowe Trade and Enterprise College, IMA, and Amber Road.
